Webroot, a security provider for the consumer, enterprise and SME markets, announced on 19 November 'significant' enhancements to its E-Mail Security SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution.
The company said that the changes include enhanced user and group management, better image scanning to intercept solicited pornographic images, expanded attachment scanning capabilities and the ability to detect multiple identical signatures/disclaimers.

Webroot said that it recently conducted a survey in which 44% of email security decision-makers stated that the current economic downturn has already resulted in a hiring freeze, 40% were postponing software and hardware purchases and 21% were contemplating lay-offs. The company believes that its security product offers customers the ability to meet the demands of today's economic climate while delivering increased security features without the expense and overhead associated with hardware and software solutions.
The new version of its E-Mail Security SaaS is available free to existing customers. No price details for the service were disclosed.
