Verizon Wireless, a provider of wireless voice and data network and a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE:VOD) (LSE:VOD), announced on Monday (24 November) that it has completed enhancements to its advanced 3G high-speed wireless network throughout Indiana, USA.

The company has installed its EV-DO Rev. A (Evolution-data Optimized, Revision A) hardware and software on the remaining 106 cell sites needing upgrading across Indiana. In addition, the company activated an additional 55 EV-DO cell sites in the state.

The EV-DO Rev. A enhancements give customers access to advanced services such as V CAST, VZ Navigator and the latest Push to Talk technology.

The company said it has invested over USD136m in Indiana network improvements in 2007. Its network now covers 31,186 square miles of the state and 95.6% of the population.
