US communications holding company AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) announced on Monday (24 November) that the company has signed a new three-year contract with Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of AES Corporation, a global power company.
Under the contract, AT&T will provide integrated network solutions for IPL. AT&T will link IPL's locations across the state of Indianapolis in the US and monitor its network to optimise data communication through its Managed Internet Service Private Network Transport (MIS PNT) services.

PNT, a part of AT&T's diverse Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) portfolio, provides any-to-any connectivity to link domestic sites to a single IP network that easily integrates new locations and applications.
AT&T's new wide-area network (WAN) services are expected to optimise data transmission and flow among the offices of IPL. In addition, the enhanced network solution incorporates IPL's disaster recovery centre, delivering greater reliability and efficiency for its around-the-clock operations.
The company also will provide an AT&T Business Network solution. With its fully integrated services including local and long distance under a single contract, AT&T Business Network offers cost efficiencies and greater agility in managing IPL's enterprise.
