NDS (Nasdaq:NNDS), a provider of technology solutions for digital pay-TV, has been chosen by Tata Sky Ltd, a satellite television provider in India and a joint venture between the TATA Group and STAR, to supply its XTV DVR solution for Tata Sky , a new service that offers full Personal Video Recording (PVR) functionality.

The company said that Tata Sky (Tata Sky Plus) allows viewers to plan and control their TV viewing experience with features such as Record Live TV and Pause & Rewind Live TV. It features MPEG4 technology and a memory capacity that can accommodate recording of programmes and movies.

NDS technology, supported by the company's local presence in India, has enabled Tata Sky to deliver high quality TV service, as well as allowing it to develop new options to be implemented in the future, NDS said.

No financial details were disclosed.
