Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), an IT technology company, announced on 6 November that it has signed a deal with OMV AG, a European oil and gas group, which will see FSC provide OMV with its IT infrastructure and services across 30 countries.

FSC said that OMV has chosen to invest in an upgrade to its IT infrastructure, which included placing management of its systems across 30 European countries into the hands of an IT services provider. Vienna-based OMV is one of Austria's largest publicly-listed industrial companies, with group sales of more than EUR20bn in 2007 and a current market capitalisation of around EUR7bn.

OMV's new server portfolio ranges from single-processor machines in branch offices through to the latest-generation multi-core Fujitsu PRIMERGY BX series blades in data centres, according to FSC. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will manage OMV's IT infrastructure, contracting with the company's services arm to manage Service Level Agreements, based on individual usage and needs scenarios.
