Finnish media group Alma Media Corporation (OMX Helsinki:ALN1V) said on Wednesday (1 October) that its subsidiary Iltalehti Oy has acquired the Finnish blogging service, Vuodatus.net.
The seller and the founder of the service, Tuomas Rinta, will resign from Monster.fi and join Vuodatus.net as of 3 November 2008.
After the acquisition Vuodatus.net will continue to operate as independent blogging service, the company said.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction.
Vuodatus.net, founded in 2004, is a very popular blogging service, which is free for its users. The service is home to more than 50,000 blogs and 1.25 million blog posts. Some 1,500 new entries are posted in the service each day.
