Boingo Wireless, a Wi-Fi access network operator, and Telefonica, a Spanish telecomms operator, announced on 21 October the signing of an agreement concerning Wi-Fi access sharing.

The agreement will give Boingo Wireless' members access to nearly 2,600 additional hotspots owned by Telefonica Spain, while Telefonica subscribers will be able to log in to some 7,000 Boingo hotspots throughout the world.

According to Boingo, Telefonica Argentina will, in the near future, become the next affiliate within the Telefonica Group to join the Boingo network.

No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.
