IT security and control firm Sophos announced on 25 September the launch of a new service, free to customers of Sophos' Premium and Platinum Support services, which will notify web administrators if pages on their sites have been infected with malicious code.
Sophos said that since the beginning of September its experts have discovered over 380,000 new web pages carrying malware, with 90% of these pages belonging to legitimate websites that have been compromised through techniques such as SQL injection.
