SES ASTRA, an SES company (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG), announced on 29 September that Slovakian telecomms and TV operator Towercom has contracted an additional transponder to increase capacity for its SkyLink Direct-to-Home TV service in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The additional capacity will be on one of SES ASTRA's satellites in the 23.5 degrees East orbital position, one of the prime orbital locations for transmissions to Central and Eastern Europe.
