Powerwave Technologies Inc (Nasdaq:PWAV), a supplier of wireless infrastructure equipment, announced on 29 September the availability of a new family of wide-band single and dual band repeaters for the North American commercial and public safety frequencies.

The Nexus FT repeaters support multi-carrier and multi-band operation and can be deployed up to 15 miles from a base station to offer high capacity and long-reach fibre optic distribution. The solution is intended to extend the coverage area for both outdoor and indoor applications without the need to locate and build macro cells.
