Protegrity Corporation, a provider of data security management solutions, released on Thursday (4 September) Defiance Security Software Suite 4.5, the latest version of its data protection solution.
According to the company, the Defiance Suite consists of the Enterprise Security Administrator, the Defiance Threat Management System web application firewall and the Defiance Data Protection System for encryption, which is made up of a wide range of Application Protectors, Database Protectors and File Protectors.

The solution combines central management of security policy, key management and alerting and reporting with distributed protection of data. Encryption, web application firewall and enterprise security administration solutions allow organisations to achieve security and compliance while balancing operational requirements with the risk of data loss.
The new release reportedly features: expanded platform support for the mainframe with a new Application Protector and command line File Protector for z/OS; extended web application firewall management with application path and security policy auto-configuration and cluster deployment; broadened Linux platform support with new File Protectors for RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 and SuSE Linux ES 10; as well as increased performance for the Database Protector for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008.
