Mobistar (Euronext:MOBB), a provider of mobile communication services, today (24 April) announced financial results for the first quarter of 2009, ended 31 March 2009.
The Mobistar group recorded 3,864,228 active customers for mobile telephony at the end of the quarter, 232,251 more than the 3,631,977 active customers reported at the end of the first quarter of 2008.
Consolidated revenues for the quarter were EUR371.2m, up by 2.5% as compared with revenues of EUR362.2m in the corresponding period of the prior year.

EBITDA was EUR134m for the quarter, as compared with EUR143.4m in the first quarter of 2008.
Consolidated net profit for the quarter was EUR60.1m, a 12.5% decrease over EUR68.7m in the first quarter of the prior year.
Net profit per share decreased by 8.3 % to EUR1.00, as compared with EUR1.09 at the end of the first quarter of 2008.
The company said that the results of the first quarter enable it to confirm its earlier guidance for the year 2009.
