ComponentOne introduces ComponentOne XapOptimizer

Solutions provider ComponentOne announced on Thursday the release of ComponentOne XapOptimizer, a utility that reduces the size of XAP files.

The company, a component vendor in the Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner program, said its new utility allows developers to reduce the size of their Microsoft Silverlight applications by removing unused classes and XAML resources and secure their code.

The solution is expected to benefit any Silverlight developer, regardless of whether they use third party controls or the in-the-box controls that come packaged with Silverlight. It may be added to the build process, which means optimisation and obfuscation will take place automatically with each new build.

A ComponentOne XapOptimizer license will be sold per developer seat and retails for USD500.
