Wireless services provider Leap Wireless International Inc (Nasdaq:LEAP) announced on Tuesday announced that Cricket unlimited wireless services are now available in the greater Washington, DC and Baltimore areas.
Leap Wireless, the parent company of Cricket Communications Inc, said that Cricket's coverage area includes both the Washington, DC and Baltimore metro areas, as well as connecting suburbs and travel routes. The new coverage area, comprising approximately 4,810 square miles and nearly 7.2m covered POPs, brings Cricket's total US POPs to approximately 91m.

The company also said it will open 13 retail store locations in Washington, DC and 8 retail store locations in Baltimore.
Cricket service plans range from USD30 to USD60 per month and include unlimited anytime minutes, unlimited US long distance, unlimited text and picture messaging, unlimited text to Mexico, unlimited mobile web and unlimited directory assistance.
In addition, Cricket Broadband is available now in Baltimore and will be available soon in Washington, DC. The monthly broadband service plan is USD35 per month for customers who also have the company's voice plans and USD40 per month as a stand-alone service.
