MasPar announces key data warehouse alliances with BC Systems, Booz-Allen, Business Objects, dbINTELLECT Technologies and Prism Solutions
Business Wire, Dec 6, 1994
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 1994--MasPar Computer Corp. has announced key alliances with leading data warehouse vendors, information access solutions, consulting partners and systems integrators in support of MasPar's introduction of the Decision Series relational database management system Tuesday at the Database Expo `94 show in New York.
``We are delighted to announce these strategic partnerships with the preeminent data warehouse vendors, consulting houses and systems integrators in support of MasPar's Decision Series product announcement,'' said MasPar President and Chief Executive Officer John Harte.
``The Decision Series is designed as an open data warehouse solution for high-end analytical decision support applications, and these alliances will ensure that customers can easily and quickly integrate the Decision Series solution into their existing computing environment.''
MasPar and BC Systems
MasPar has signed a Professional Service Partners agreement with BC Systems Corp., a provincial Crown corporation based in Victoria, British Columbia, that provides data processing, professional services, data and voice communications and information access services for the public sector.
BC Systems has extensive decision support experience with the MasPar system, having acted as systems integrator on behalf of the British Columbia Ministry of Health in implementing a MasPar decision support solution which analyzes health claims data for the province of British Columbia.
``Our MasPar/SAS System is providing the Ministry significant performance improvement for ad hoc queries over the previous mainframe solution,'' said Ian Bailey, technical specialist for BC Systems. ``We have experienced MasPar's ability to perform complex query analysis first-hand and now look forward to implementing Decision Series solutions as well.''
MasPar and Booz-Allen & Hamilton
MasPar and Booz-Allen & Hamilton, one of the world's largest management and technology consulting firms, announced a consulting and systems integration agreement under which Booz-Allen will provide technical consulting services to MasPar Decision Series customers and prospects.
Booz-Allen's staff has an impressive track record of providing innovative solutions to complex problems by applying high performance computing technology. The firm is well known for its pioneering work in the large database analysis and sophisticated decision support environment.
``Booz-Allen's broad technical capabilities and deep understanding of the complex issues facing both government and commercial clients will provide MasPar's customers a valuable resource in high performance computing,'' said Glen R. Bruels, vice president in charge of Booz-Allen's High Performance Computing Practice.
MasPar and Business Objects
MasPar and Business Objects announced a joint marketing agreement involving Business Objects' product, BusinessObjects, and MasPar's Decision Series. BusinessObjects, using an innovative Business-Intelligent Querying approach, allows non-technical end users to intuitively query, report and analyze data stored in data warehouses by allowing users to interact with business terms, rather than with the tables and columns of database structures. MasPar's Decision Series handles the storage and manipulation of the data in the data warehouse.
``MasPar has developed a unique, integrated approach to dealing with high-end analytical decision support applications for the data warehouse,'' said Perry Mizota, Business Objects' vice president of marketing. ``BusinessObjects is being used by many of our customers as an integral component of a data warehouse solution, and our joint marketing agreement with MasPar illustrates our continued commitment to the data warehouse market.''
MasPar and dbINTELLECT
dbINTELLECT Technologies, a division of General Motor's EDS subsidiary (NYSE:GME), has signed a partnering agreement with MasPar to provide consulting services specifically focusing on cross-industry database support services ranging from data warehouse construction to project management. dbINTELLECT's expertise includes providing database modeling, design and performance tuning on a variety of database products, including the MasPar Decision Series.
``At dbINTELLECT Technologies, we leverage our expertise to provide our customers with the best support and solutions to solve their burgeoning database needs,'' said Bob Smith, vice president of advanced technology for dbINTELLECT. ``We are pleased to announce this partnership with MasPar, and look forward to providing our services to MasPar Decision Series customers and prospects.''
MasPar and Prism Solutions
