Genesis 2000 Inc. introduces new Windows and DOS versions of loan processing software — Windows version previewed at NYAMB Conference

Business Wire, Nov 16, 1994

CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1994--Genesis 2000 Inc., a Calabasas, Calif.-based provider of mortgage automation for lending institutions, announced that Version 1.0 for Microsoft Windows and Version 9.0 for DOS of the Genesis 2000 Loan Processing System will be released in the first quarter of 1995.

The Windows version of the system has been previewed at the 1994 New York Association of Mortgage Brokers Conference, Nov. 9-11.

Enhancements to the Version 9.0 for DOS include the incorporation of new FHA, HMDA and VA forms, trust accounting, conversation and phone logs, and pop-up calendar and calculator functions. The new system also has branch-to-branch communication capability, which allows loan forms to be pulled remotely from one office to another, as well as a fax module.

For over a year, Sarasota, Fla.-based West Coast Bank has been using the current version of Genesis 2000 software with Microsoft Windows for Workgroups. An independent bank with two branches, West Coast has an asset size of $66 million.

"As a lender, I can tell you that the Genesis 2000 system has changed the way we do business," said Mary Pierson, assistant vice president, loan officer of West Coast Bank. "One thing that has been extremely beneficial is the improvement of the work flow between me and the loan processing department. I don't use a paper loan application any longer -- I take an application right in the computer.

"That is handy because while a customer is in my office, I can print out an application, a good faith estimate, a truth-in-lending statement and a transmittal, and see whether or not they qualify in a matter of minutes. I save the file, and when they walk out the door, all the loan processor has to do is tap into the file and send out all the verifications."

The Genesis 2000 Loan Processing System allows automation of the entire loan origination, processing and tracking system for conventional and FHA loans. By typing information into simple screen formats, users can prequalify applicants, calculate payments and print out a complete set of forms and amortization schedules via laser printer.

Other system features include: automatic APR calculation, tracking of all verification, mail merge and printing of document inventory reports. A built-in word processor allows users to create form letters and other custom documents with data integrated from loan documents.

Designed as a non-proprietary mortgage automation solution, the Loan Processing System is written in a relational database language and can easily be customized to any lending institution's operations. "Mortgage lenders across the country are making decisions each day on the merits of DOS versus Windows applications," commented Fred Myer, principal of Genesis 2000 Inc. "The DOS version is a proven solution used by thousands mortgage lenders. From a development standpoint, we will continue to support the industry by enhancing both DOS and Windows versions of the software."
