Hastings Books, Music & Video, Inc. announces election of two directors

AMARILLO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 1994--John Marmaduke, chairman and chief executive officer of Hastings Books, Music & Video, Inc. announced today that Hastings has elected two new members of its board of directors, bringing the total number of directors to nine. Dr. Leonard L. Berry and Craig Lentszch have been elected members of Hastings' board of directors.

Dr. Berry holds the JC Penney Chair of Retailing Studies and is director of the Center for Retailing Studies at Texas A&M University. Lentszch is chief executive officer of Greyhound Lines, Inc.

"Both are highly regarded in their fields and we look forward to their views on serving customers and creating value for shareholders as Hastings takes steps to become a world-class entertainment retailer."

Hastings, a privately-held company headquartered in Amarillo, Texas operates some 100 discount retail stores in 14 states selling books, CD's, cassettes, video tapes, various other accessories, and renting videos. Hastings' multi-media stores range in size from 20,000 to 47,000 square feet. Hastings' primary market area includes most of the Western United States.
