Dr. J. Charles Tracy named president, Carrier Components

FARMINGTON, Conn. --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nov. 23, 1994 -- Carrier Corp. has named Dr. J. Charles Tracy to the newly created position of president, Carrier Components.
In the new post, Tracy will direct the efforts of Carrier Electronics and Carrier Carlyle Compressor divisions. Tracy had been Carrier's vice president for engineering and manufacturing, electronic systems, since May 1992.
Carrier Corp. President William S. Frago named Tracy to the new post to create a customer-oriented technology effort by directing the two key core elements of compression and electronics that go into Carrier's transport refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation products.
"Since joining Carrier in 1992, Charlie has displayed exceptional leadership in developing Carrier Electronics into a customer-focused organization. I am looking for his leadership in our new components division to help our company maintain its role as the world leader in our industry."
Prior to joining Carrier, Tracy served in numerous engineering and leadership positions with General Motors, his last post being chief engineer, audio systems, Delco Electronics. Tracy holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Ph.D. in applied physics from Cornell University.
Carrier is the world's largest manufacturer of heating and air conditioning systems and equipment. It is a subsidiary of the Hartford, Conn.-based United Technologies Corp., which provides a wide range of high technology products in the aerospace, building systems and automotive industries.
