Rockwell announces expansion of CTI business unit, two key sales appointments
Business Wire, Nov 28, 1994
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 28, 1994--Rockwell Telecommunications announced the expansion of its Switching Systems Division's (SSD) CTI Systems Technologies business unit to meet the current call center industry's needs for CTI applications.
The CTI Systems Technologies Group said it will augment the traditional SSD sales channels by creating independent channels for its products and services, and will be independently pursuing non-Rockwell sales of CTI consulting services and solutions.
As part of this effort, SSD announced two major sales appointments. Craig Shambaugh has been appointed manager, CTI Sales, to head up the newly created CTI Direct sales group. Shambaugh has been in the telecommunications industry for 17 years including the last 10 years with Rockwell. In his new position, he is in charge of all CTI sales of products and services to non-Rockwell call centers and CTI sales support for all of SSD. This includes a vendor resale area as well.
In the second appointment, Ken Bacorn, formerly of IMA, a large customer contact software house, has joined Rockwell to address the market as a consultant and systems integrator to non-Rockwell customers. Bacorn, who came to Rockwell with a strong data background, will provide CTI solutions for AT&T, Northern Telecom, Rolm, Aspect and other non-Rockwell switch vendors' call centers. He reports to Shambaugh.
Andy Zazzera, manager of Rockwell's CTI Systems Technology unit, said, "This is an essential and exciting sales venture for us. These appointments extend our commitment of being the industry's leading provider of CTI applications for call centers. With our 12 years of experience in the systems integration industry, we are ready to assist any call center in achieving CTI solutions."
The CTI Systems Technologies business unit's staff has increased fourfold since the announcement on the formation of SSD's CTI Systems Technologies business unit in October 1993. The growth will continue as more call center businesses require voice and data integrated technologies.
Rockwell Telecommunications, Switching Systems Division, is a leader in the design, development, manufacturing, and maintenance of automatic call distribution, voice processing, network management systems and intelligent workstations.
Rockwell is a diversified, high technology company holding leadership market positions in automation, avionics, aerospace, defense electronics, telecommunications, automotive components and graphic systems, with annual worldwide sales of $11 billion.
