The MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. announces availability of its products on Digital's Alpha AXP workstations and servers

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 1994--The MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. (ASE:MNS) has announced that several of its software product lines are available on Digital's AXP 64-bit workstations and servers.
These products include MSC/NASTRAN Version 68, MSC/ARIES Version 6.1 and MSC/PATRAN Release 1.4.
All products are available on Digital's Alpha AXP platforms running the OSF/1 operating system. MSC/NASTRAN is shipping now, MSC/ARIES will ship by the end of 1994, and MSC/PATRAN will ship in the first quarter of 1995. Additional MSC product lines will be made available on this platform during the remainder of 1995.
Commenting on the announcement, Herb Shumway, vice president, Discrete Manufacturing and Defense Business at Digital, said, "The combination of the Alpha AXP's performance and MSC's technology solutions will address customers' demand for getting even more analysis done extremely quickly."
According to Dr. Dennis Nagy, senior vice president at MSC: "We're very excited about having adapted three of our primary software product lines to Digital's high-performance computing platform. Our design simulation and analysis customers will benefit through faster simulations and access to more detailed simulation capabilities, which will reduce cost and time to market."
The MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. is the largest single provider of finite element modeling and analysis to the computer-aided engineering market. The company is also a leading provider of other products for the CAE market, including pre- and post-processing products.
