Business Wire, April 10, 1995

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 10, 1995--Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) Monday announced that Adobe Acrobat Pro software is bundled with the new Apple Internet Server Solution for the World Wide Web.

Adobe Acrobat Pro software is a complete package for professional designers, writers and publishers to create and distribute electronic documents. The software package allows users to create electronic documents -- complete with text, graphics, photos and color -- that can be viewed, searched or printed from virtually any computer or printer, regardless of the original authoring application or platform, an important requirement for publishing on the Web. Apple's Internet Server Solution with Adobe Acrobat Pro software is available now.

"Just as the desktop publishing revolution fundamentally changed what we expect to see on a printed page, the World Wide Web is undergoing a similar revolution," said John Warnock, chairman and chief executive officer of Adobe Systems. "People on the Web today want to view and produce documents with color, graphics and photographs. With Adobe Acrobat's ability to maintain the visual richness of an electronic document and Apple's easy-to-use Web publishing solution, the World Wide Web will never be the same."

Adobe Acrobat software allows users to create electronic documents that can be viewed, searched or printed from virtually any computer or printer, regardless of the original authoring application or platform.

Adobe Acrobat Pro includes: Acrobat 2.0 software to create Portable Document Format (PDF) files from any standard desktop application; and Acrobat Exchange 2.0 to view and print PDF files as well as annotate, build navigational links into and add security controls to PDF files; Acrobat Search to easily retrieve PDF files by conducting full-text searches of indexed PDF files; and Acrobat Distiller software to convert any PostScript language file into a PDF file.

Adobe and Apple have worked together previously to bundle Acrobat software. In September 1994, the companies announced an agreement to bundle Acrobat Reader 2.0 software with selected Macintosh systems. Acrobat Reader 2.0 software allows Macintosh users to view, navigate and print any electronic document in PDF and take immediate advantage of the increasing amount of content being made available in PDF via on-line services, the Internet and CD-ROM.
