GENIX STANDARDIZES ON CA SOFTWARE IN 10-YEAR SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT; Also Becomes Authorized CA-Unicenter Reseller
Business Wire, April 12, 1995
ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 1995--Computer Associates and The Genix Group, one of the largest computer services firms, today announced a landmark 10-year software license agreement. Genix will standardize on CA multiplatform products--including MVS, VSE and client/server solutions--to better manage costs and quality of services to clients.
The license gives Genix unprecedented flexibility to use CA's client/server application development, distributed systems and database management software for both its own processing needs and for use by current and future international and U.S. clients. It also reduces Genix's software costs and supports the simplification and standardization of computing environments for its customers.
"CA software is prominent in the marketplace," said Genix President and CEO Rudolfo D. Cifolelli. "We found that CA offers the most extensive array of software for mission-critical computing while protecting client investments in legacy systems. Offering these products to our clients will enhance our competitiveness."
"CA shares Genix's enterprise vision in providing clients with the appropriate software solutions that meet all their business needs," said CA Chairman and CEO Charles Wang. "Clients will benefit from Genix's strategic decision to standardize on CA software, enabling them to choose from a wide range of effective mission-critical business solutions."
"Clients need a portfolio of client/server solutions from their service providers," said Robert Toth, CA senior vice president. "By partnering with CA, Genix can now offer a wide range of solutions --from legacy to client/server-- to compete effectively in the marketplace."
As part of the agreement, Genix has become an authorized reseller for CA-Unicenter, the heterogeneous systems management solution for client/server computing.
