New QuickBooks 2.1 for DOS adds complete cash basis reporting and QuickPay payroll

MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 1995--New version 2.1 of QuickBooks for DOS, Intuit's popular, easy-to-use small business accounting program, now has complete cash basis reporting and includes QuickPay payroll at no additional charge. Additionally, QuickBooks 2.1 for DOS includes a trial balance report and an export to Intuit's TurboTax for Business.
Version 2.1 delivers additional functionally to users who run their company on a cash basis. The addition of QuickPay at no extra charge provides added value to small business people with payroll needs. These new features enhance the powerful accounting capabilities already in QuickBooks such as invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reports and project and job costing.
COMPLETE CASH BASIS REPORTING
QuickBooks 2.1 for DOS lets a user set up an entire company on a cash or accrual basis. Business people who use a mix of cash and accrual basis reporting can easily toggle individual reports between cash and accrual basis. All relevant reports are now available on a cash basis including:
-- balance sheet -- transaction report -- general ledger report -- itemized income/expense report -- sales report -- tax schedule report -- budget vs. actual report
QUICKPAY NOW INCLUDED AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE
QuickBooks 2.1 for DOS also includes QuickPay 3.0 for DOS at no additional charge. QuickPay completes payroll tasks in minutes, including calculating pay and deductions, creating paychecks, and providing reports of payroll tax liabilities. QuickPay speeds year-end processing by printing employees' Form W-2. And users who subscribe to QuickPay's Tax Table Update Service are assured of having the latest federal and state payroll tax changes.
In addition, users of new QuickBooks 2.1 for DOS can now create a traditional trial balance report showing the balance of each account in the traditional two-column accounting format that accountants frequently request.
Other additions to QuickBooks 2.1 for DOS include an easier way to file income taxes, with a new link that allows businesses organized as corporations, subchapter-S corporations and partnerships to quickly and easily export income tax information to the TurboTax for Business tax preparation software program.
