Sofamor Danek Announces Effectiveness Of Genetics Institute Agreement

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 1995--Sofamor Danek Group, Inc. (NYSE:SDG) today announced that the agreement with Genetics Institute, Inc. for the commercialization of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) for spinal reconstruction has become effective. Effectiveness of the agreement was contingent upon routine Hart Scott Rodino review and that waiting period expired on March 31, 1995. This technology will require Food and Drug Administration authorization before marketing in the U.S. can begin.
