SSE Telecom Inc. names Frederick T. Kelly as vice president of business development

MCCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 1995-- SSE Telecom Inc. (NASDAQ:SSET), a manufacturer and marketer of satellite telecommunications equipment, announced today that Frederick T. Kelly has joined its Fremont, California-based subsidiary, SSE Technologies, as vice president of business development and marketing.
''In addition to Fred's 25-year background in satellite and data communications, his extensive experience in international new business development will strengthen our strategic investments, partnerships and entrance into new markets,'' said Frederick C. Toombs, president of SSE Telecom.
Kelly, 52, was most recently director of marketing and sales at COMSAT International Ventures, where he was responsible for identifying and assessing new international business and strategic marketing opportunities. From 1990 to 1992, he was responsible for product assessment, acquisitions and domestic and international marketing as director of marketing, Information Systems Division, Legent Corporation.
Prior to 1990, Fred held a variety of progressively responsible positions in telecommunications and business development at high technology companies. He holds a M.S. degree in Computer Science and Management Information Systems from American University in Washington, D.C. and a B.S. degree in Economics and Business from Hofstra, University in Long Island, N.Y.
SSE Telecom is a leading satellite earth station component and system manufacturer. To date, more than 10,000 of SSE's transceivers or modems have been installed in satellite earth stations in more than 80 countries worldwide.
