ArcSoft, Inc. Announces PhotoStudio for Windows, Version 2.0, a "Plug In"-Compatible Image-Editing Tool for Multimedia Authors; Windows 95-Ready
Business Wire, August 14, 1995
MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 1995--ArcSoft, Inc. today announced version 2.0 of their flagship photo editing product for multimedia authors, "PhotoStudio for Windows." The new version, still street-priced at around $90, adds full 32-bit functionality and Windows 95 compliance as well as adherence to the Adobe Photoshop plug-in standard. The announcement gives multimedia authors and general graphics users a more affordable choice in image editing that still offers the extendibility of "special effects" plug-ins like Kai's Power Tools.
Michael Deng, president of ArcSoft, Inc., explains, "PhotoStudio is already faster and leaner than the other photo-editing packages out there because it's fine-tuned for images smaller than ten megabytes. Now, we've added plug-in support to give our users the freedom to expand on PhotoStudio in whatever way they choose." ArcSoft also claims that PhotoStudio for Windows runs well on most notebook computers, making it the obvious choice for portable photo editing capability.
PhotoStudio for Windows v2.0 also brings new special effects filters like Wind Blaster, Crystal, Lightening, Oil Painting, Film Grain, Splash, Melt, Ripple, Motion Blur and more. An included image browsing utility has also been enhanced with the new version, providing multiple image retrieval, searching and sorting, as well as slide show presentation capabilities. The included slide show tool provides over forty transition effects.
PhotoStudio for Windows v2.0 is currently in Beta testing and will begin shipping at COMDEX/Fall '95 in Las Vegas. For more information, contact ArcSoft, Inc. at 1-800-762-8657.
