MicroStrategy's DSS Agent is Most Popular Tool at DCI's Data Warehouse Conference

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 1995--DSS Agent(TM) 3.0, MicroStrategy's True Relational OLAP tool, was prominently featured at a variety of major exhibits during the recent Data Warehouse Conference held in Chicago, August 8-10, 1995. Evidence of the product's popularity could be found in the large number of vendors who were demonstrating the product. In addition to being displayed in MicroStrategy's booth, DSS Agent could also be seen in booths sponsored by Informix, Sybase, Software AG, and Price Warehouse.

Informix Software was demonstrating DSS Agent against the INFORMIX(R)-OnLine Dynamic Server(TM) database to showcase the strong performance of True Relational OLAP products in a symmetrical multiprocessing (SMP) environment. Running against a demonstration database called "STORES," DSS Agent's unique feature set allowed Informix to demonstrate sophisticated analysis functionality, including support for OLAP calculations directly from a relational database, intelligent agents, workflow triggers, data mining, and custom grouping.

As a charter member of the SYBASE WAREHOUSE WORKS(TM) Alliance, MicroStrategy was featured as part of Sybase's Partner Pavilion. At the conference, the two companies announced the signing of an agreement to integrate the SYBASE IQ technology into DSS Agent. MicroStrategy announced that it will integrate the IQ technology with its SQL generation engine enabling corporations who have chosen Sybase as their data warehouse engine to generate IQ-optimized SQL execution plans. The combination of the two products would provide a platform to generate complex OLAP analyses using relational database technology.

DSS Agent was featured at the Software AG booth as part of the on-going Strategic Alliance between the two companies. The Alliance was designed to provide end-users with easy access and multidimensional analysis of information stored in data warehouses. Software AG resells and distributes MicroStrategy's DSS Agent.

DSS Agent also appeared in the Price Waterhouse booth as part of its continuing worldwide initiative in data warehousing. Price Waterhouse Management Consulting Services provides clients with industry-specific technology applications based on the firm's "Knowledge Management" approach. Price Waterhouse used DSS Agent to demonstrate a sophisticated managed health care application.
