Borland Launches Windows 95 Web Site; Smooth Sailing to Windows 95 Site Entertains and Informs

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1995-- Borland International Inc. today launched its Smooth Sailing to Windows 95 World Wide Web Site in conjunction with Microsoft's introduction of Windows 95. The Smooth Sailing to Windows 95 Web Site offers developers an easy and fun way to learn about Borland's Windows 95 products and how to smoothly migrate applications to the new operating system.
Customers can access the site either through the Microsoft Windows 95 Launch site (http//:www.windows.microsoft.com/launch95/), or through Borland Online (http//:www.borland.com), Borland's World Wide Web Site. Microsoft's Windows 95 Launch Site is expected to attract over 100,000 users per day during the first week. The link will be active for three months and then incorporated into Borland Online.
Borland Online is a comprehensive resource for Borland Developers, providing access to everything from the latest product information and technical documents to information on seminars and training locations. Since its introduction in February, the number of people accessing Borland Online has grown to an average of over 3,000 daily.
Borland's Smooth Sailing to Windows 95 site includes technical information on Borland's Windows 95 products, including Visual dBASE, Delphi, Paradox and Borland C . In addition, customers visiting the site can qualify to win an all-expenses paid luxury cruise on Star Clipper Cruise Lines by visiting the various sections and collecting points. Customers can also visit the sites casino and Play Borland Blackjack. The top 50 winners each week will receive other prizes including Borland T-shirts.

Borland is also participating in the launch of Windows 95 by previewing Borland C 5.0, Delphi for Windows 95 and Paradox for Windows 95 today as part of Microsoft's Windows 95 launch event. Borland's Windows 95 products are scheduled to ship in the third and fourth quarters of its fiscal year (ending March 31, 1996).
