Accugraph Corporation goes live in 59 days with SAP's R/3; international financial applications will support projected growth

Business Wire, August 28, 1995

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 1995--SAP, the world's leading provider of client/server business applications, and ICS Deloitte, a leader in North America for SAP software implementations, today announced that Accugraph Corporation, a provider of network information software products installed SAP's R/3 client/server financial applications throughout North American operations, becoming productive in just 59 days.

Accugraph, based in El Paso, Texas, purchased R/3's financial applications for its U.S. and Canadian operations. The financial modules implemented include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, orders, cost centers, fixed assets and budgets. The combined application suite addresses Accugraph's most critical needs for financial accounting and budget tracking.

"SAP met all of the criteria required to fulfill our growing accounting needs as well as respond to those well into the future as our company grows into international markets," said Dennis McGinn, president of Accugraph. "R/3's flexible multi-currency and multi-language capabilities were very attractive to us. We considered many client/server products on the marketplace, but none were as robust as SAP and no others contain the international flavor we required."

Early benefits of the system include the ease of information access. Accugraph now has the capability to look at general ledger accounts prior to the close of the month. The system currently supports 20 users and is installed at its headquarters in El Paso, Texas.

"We also experienced some unexpected benefits as a result of the project," said Elizabeth Zajic, manager of financial reporting at Accugraph. "It was very easy to convert to R/3 because the users were already experienced in Microsoft office software, and the project has generated enthusiasm among the hands-on users of the system."

"Accugraph has a clear vision of its corporate future, and the associated requirements for financial accounting systems to meet today's needs and support projected growth and expansion," said Klaus P. Besier, chief executive officer and president of SAP America, Inc. "We are pleased that they are already enjoying the benefits of their decision to purchase R/3 to support their global financial operations."

Accugraph achieved production of R/3 by leveraging the bundled, strategic management consulting services of ICS Deloitte. "The ICS Deloitte team was composed of very capable team members," said Zajic. "The level of knowledge was excellent as well as the project management skills. The entire team was prepared to get the job done, and the commitment was evident with the successful implementation of R/3 in only 59 days."

"ICS Deloitte and SAP worked together to exceed our customer's expectations for rapid implementation of R/3," said Michael Pehl, chief executive officer of ICS Deloitte. "By bringing the best of two complementary organizations together, we are able to provide our clients with faster R/3 implementations and deliver greater overall customer satisfaction."
