NCD Software Signs Licensing Agreement with Software Research Associates; SRA to Resell Mariner to the Japanese Market

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 1995--NCD Software Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Computing Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:NCDI), today announced that is has signed a technology licensing agreement with Software Research Associate.
Under the terms of the agreement, SRA will pay NCD Software $290,000, plus royalties, for rights to resell a localized version of Mariner, NCD's new Windows-based intelligent Internet organizer and browser, for the Japanese market.
"Software Research Associates selected Mariner over the competition because of its unique features," said Mike Harrigan, vice president of marketing for NCD Software Corp. "Thanks to this agreement, Mariner stands to gain a dominant position in Japan's Internet market."
Mariner is the first intelligent Internet organizer specifically designed to allow the user to organize and share Internet-based information quickly and efficiently. Its special features include the ability to organize information by subject regardless of the source, and to build a personal roadmap of the user's Internet exploration. No other application incorporates all types of Internet information into subject folders and provides this dynamic mapping capability. Users can also share information collected from the Internet via Mariner's Web-enabled e-mail capability.
