Carlson Wagonlit Travel wins joint Honeywell/Alliant Techsystems account

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1995--Carlson Wagonlit Travel has been awarded the joint consolidated travel management account for Honeywell and Alliant Techsystems, both based in the Minneapolis metropolitan area. Honeywell and Alliant Techsystems disclosed combined domestic travel volume of $48 million.
Honeywell and Alliant Techsystems chose Carlson Wagonlit because of its industry expertise; its global capabilities; MIS flexibility; and strength in account management.
Carlson Wagonlit began handling the consolidated account in July, and will continue to phase in various field offices through the end of the year. Honeywell's Minneapolis employees are being serviced out of Carlson Wagonlit's Corporate Business Center in Bloomington, Minn., while its Phoenix employees will be handled from four on-site offices in Phoenix. Carlson Wagonlit will handle Alliant Techsystems' travel from offices in Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and Seattle.
Prior to this consolidation, Carlson Wagonlit handled Alliant Techsystems' travel and approximately 50 percent of Honeywell's travel business, including the following Honeywell divisions: Industrial Automation & Control; Satellite Systems Operation; Commercial Flight Systems; and portions of Home & Building Control and Military Avionics.
Honeywell manufactures controls for heating, ventilating and air-conditioning equipment; security and fire alarm systems; industrial control systems; and components and avionics systems.
Alliant Techsystems is a $1.3 billion aerospace and defense company with approximately 7,900 employees and operations in 24 states. The company, headquartered in Hopkins, Minn., comprises four business groups: Aerospace Systems, Defense Systems, Marine Systems and Emerging Business.
