SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1995--Dimension X, known for creating dynamic Web sites and unequaled Java language implementation, has made their Internet software products, Liquid Reality and ICE, available to the public for licensing today at VRML 95.

Liquid Reality is a Java based authoring kit and viewer which allows the creation of dynamically extensive VRML environments including motion, sound, and intelligent behaviors. Liquid Reality boasts features such as platform independence, compatibility with Java enabled browsers such as Netscape 2.0 and HotJava, and an inclusive package for parsing, rendering and writing out VRML.

Liquid Reality can run stand alone or in the browser window. This makes for more cohesive navigation between hyperlinks and 2-D applications. With the flexibility and synergy of Liquid Reality, Dimension X intends to redefine 3-D space on the World Wide Web.

Mark Pesce - Co-Creator of VRML - "Liquid Reality is an incredible breakthrough for VRML - it represents the complete integration of Java and VRML, and is undoubtedly one of the finest efforts to date to bring interactivity and behaviors to VRML, and 3D scene description to Java.

ICE is the 3-D API for graphic rendering with Java. This engine is designed for fast rendering at interactive speeds while incorporating such features as multiple light sources, texture mapping, and smooth shading. With a platform independent API, portability is second to none, and makes ICE the perfect base for development of various on-line applications such as games, 3-D worlds, and other graphical applications.

Liquid Reality and ICE will be freely available for non-commercial use.
