Business Wire, Dec 14, 1995
MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1995-- Cybermation Inc., a systems management software firm, has announced an agreement with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (SWBT) to provide them with a systems management software solution for their cross-platform management needs into the 21st century.
Enterprise Systems Platform (ESP) Workload Manager software will be used by SWBT to define and manage cross-platform applications from a single point of control. "ESP Workload Manager provides us with job scheduling software for multiple platform workloads on our MVS and Pyramid systems", said Ed Erbar, Function Manager, SWBT. Baosheng Yang, Process Specialist, SWBT, also stated, "ESP is the first commercial product brought in under the Distributed Systems Management effort at SWBT. We are implementing ESP to integrate scheduling across our major platforms."
The use of ESP Workload Manager across platforms allows the use of UNIX as a driver and MVS as a server. "ESP Workload Manager's cross-platform approach provides for leverage between the price-performance and flexibility benefits of UNIX platforms without going through the costly and time-consuming process of re-writing legacy applications", said Tina Rogers, Cybermation's executive vice president.
SWBT, a provider of innovative products and services, is a wholly owned subsidiary of SBC Communications Inc., one of the world's largest diversified telecommunications companies. Other businesses of SBC include wireless services and equipment in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia; business and consumer telecommunications equipment; messaging services, cable television interests in both domestic and international markets; and directory advertising and publishing. SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE: SBC) reported 1994 revenues of 11.6 billion.
Cybermation Inc., is a Canadian company recognized by its many Fortune 500 customers both as the provider of best-of-breed scheduling and workload management software, and for its systems management expertise.
