Value Holdings obtains license for LIBIDO
Business Wire, Dec 20, 1995
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 1995--Value Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: VALH) announced today that it has signed a license agreement with MPS International Food Works Inc. for the exclusive rights for the United States and Mexico to market a new product formulation based on fertilized eggs, known as LIBIDO(TM).
LIBIDO(TM) is a dietary supplement which, in scientific tests, have shown evident proof of an increased sexual drive in men. LIBIDO(TM) has not yet been tested on women. A test program will also include women is planned to begin 1996. The product was first tested in a pilot (a placebo study) amongst healthy adult men with a normal sex drive. The trial showed a significant increase of sexual drive of the participants.
A comprehensive test was implemented by professional sexologists. This test showed that LIBIDO(TM) had an effect on men aged between 40 and 60 years of age, suffering from diminished sex drive. This test was conducted using recognized scientific methods (double blind crossover study). Sexual drive is the instinct that leads to the wish for sexual activity/sexual intercourse. Man has at all times been interested in knowing how different dietary supplements may influence the sexual drive in a positive manner. Up until now, there have been very few products that may be able to influence that sexual drive. In our culture, there are increasing problems pertaining to the sexual drive in both sexes. The causes are numerous and complex, involving complicated interrelations between physical and psychological factors, and our scientific knowledge of these factors is at present very limited. The male sex hormone testosterone plays a part in this interrelated system.
One should distinguish between problems caused by reduced sexual drive and those caused by reduced ability, for example, the ability to have an erection. If your sexual drive is normal, but you suspect that something else is wrong, you should consult your physician.
The announcement Value Holdings is making today is in connection with possibly having found one of the most sought after remedies for a medical problem in our society today. It is estimated that one out of every five males has reduced sexual drive at various times in their lives. Value Holdings Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary The Trade Group Inc., will be using LIBIDO(TM) as a major ingredient in the manufacturing of an isotonic drink. The drink is being designed as a supplemental product combining a balance between LIBIDO(TM), a number of vitamins, beta carotene, and other natural ingredients in a delicious, thirst quenching beverage. The company is also investigating the possibility of developing a premium line of beer using LIBIDO(TM) as one of the additives.
The drink is presently under development and Value Holdings anticipates coming to market in mid-1996. The product will have no side effects, and any adult will be able to use it as long as they are not allergic to eggs. It will not help everyone, but a substantial percentage of men who are impotent, partially impotent or suffering from diminished sexual desire will most probably see a dramatic improvement within days or weeks.
Value Holdings Inc. is a holding company formed to acquire businesses. The corporate goal is to build well-run, independent subsidiaries who have solid market niches with compounded growth rates in terms of revenues and earnings.
