Business Wire, Dec 6, 1995

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 1995-- EveryWare Development Corp. has seen it's new product Tango, a full featured visual development tool that integrates databases with Web servers, hit the World-Wide Web with fantastic results.

Tango lets Web administrators rapidly create Web pages that utilize databases without having to write any SQL (Structured Query Language) or HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) code. Tango version 1.0 connects Macintosh-based Web servers, such as WebSTAR from StarNine Technologies, Inc. to Butler SQL, EveryWare's own relational database. Together, Tango and Butler SQL provide dynamic solutions for businesses that operate on the Web.

The variety of solutions created using Tango and Butler SQL demonstrates the benefits the software provides Web administrators. The following real-world, on-line solutions highlight Tango's ability to solve a variety of different problems in different settings.

The Bank of Montreal's Web site (http://www.bmo.com/) is one example where Tango has turned a static site into an interactive one. Tango has given the Bank of Montreal the ability to easily publish and update the mortgage rates displayed on their site. The webmaster no longer has to create a new Web page everytime mortgage rates are updated; Tango takes the information directly from the database and provides users with the latest information.

Tango is also being used as a mortgage calculator where customers can interact with the Web site by entering in their financial information and receiving responses to their inquiries. Within the Mortgage Rate section a client can choose to have e-mail automatically sent to them when the mortgage rate has dropped to a level that they have indicted would better satisfy their needs.

The Bank of Montreal's student loan section, Brain Money, uses an on-line registration system with database integration created using Tango. After reading about various Canadian Colleges and Universities, students can determine their loan potential on-line, and even apply for a student line of credit.

Tango has given the bank the ability to provide the consumer with an interactive and dynamic Web site by providing the necessary tools to perform financial calculations and analysis as well as providing current, useful information.

"We believe our customer solutions should be customized to each individual. Tango lets us differentiate Bank of Montreal from our competitors, we are in essence giving consumers the opportunity to personalize the site to their needs," said Jeff Turner, Senior Manager Corporate Marketing, from the Bank of Montreal.

Salon, an on-line magazine of books, arts and ideas, is also utilizing Tango and Butler SQL on their Web site (http://www.salon1999.com/). Tango provides a solution for on-line conferencing where users can visit Salon's Table Talk and participate in on-going conversations regarding a variety of topics. Salon was looking for a tool that would entice users to continually visit their Web site. EveryWare's Tango and Butler SQL provided a vehicle to help Salon reach their goals.

"On-line discussion is essential to the success of any Web site and is critical to differentiating between a print and a Web-based magazine. Salon offers users the chance to discuss movies, music, television, books or whatever they wish. Tango and Butler SQL help with Table Talk's success by giving us the ability to register users and create the on-line discussion section," said David Zweig, Publisher of Salon.

User Group Connection (http://www.ugconnection.org/), an independent marketing service firm providing high-tech marketers with cost effective ways to reach influential Computer User Groups, is currently using Tango with Butler SQL to provide a User Group locator service with a custom Web page for each of the more than 4,000 User Groups in North America.

"Tango and Butler SQL have made it possible for vendors and computer enthusiasts to locate User Groups near them, or based on their interests. We used to receive many requests for User Group contact info by telephone and e-mail. On our Web site, Tango and Butler SQL now do all the work for us. Users can search through our database at their convenience without picking up the phone or waiting for an e-mail, and we can update the information easily," said Raines Cohen, On-line Communications Manager at User Group Connection.

Tango and Butler SQL are proving to be important tools in the creation of dynamic and interactive Web sites throughout the Internet. Demo versions of the software can be downloaded from EveryWare's Web site (http://www.everyware.com/).
