Semi-Tech Corp. announces increase in holding of Semi-Tech Co. Ltd

MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 1995--Semi-Tech Corp. ("Semi-Tech") announced Wednesday that it has purchased 8,907,000 shares of Semi-Tech (Global) Co. Ltd. ("Semi-Tech Global") at an average price of HK$11.97 per share, increasing its ownership of Semi-Tech Global from 37.8% to 40.3%.
Shares of Semi-Tech Global are listed on The Hong Kong Exchange under the symbol 448, and are traded on the over-the-counter market in the United States through a sponsored ADR, program under the symbol SITGY. Semi-Tech Global owns approximately 72% of G.M. Pfaff A.G. of Germany and 55% of Akai Electric Co. of Japan.
Semi-Tech is a Canadian-based multinational company engaged in the global marketing and distribution of consumer products for the home, principally through its subsidiaries and affiliates. Companies within the Semi-Tech Group have revenues in excess of $4.0 billion. Semi-Tech's shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (Class A: SEM.A; Class B; SEM.B).
Class A shares are also listed on the Montreal Exchange under the symbol SEM.A and trade in the United States on the NASDAQ Exchange under the symbol SEMC.F.
