Datametrics Corp. signs international distribution agreements for CYMax, high-speed color printer

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 1995-- Datametrics Corp. (ASE:DC) Wednesday announced that it has signed non-exclusive distribution agreements with Bureautique-Informatique- Service-Communications (BISC) of Paris, and with Materiali Arti Grafiche (MAG) of Milan, Italy, in the process of forming a worldwide distribution network for its CYMax high-speed commercial color printer targeted to office, institutional, graphic arts, and in-plant printing markets.
The French and Italian distributors represent name-brand printers, scanners, computers and copiers such as Tektronix, Hewlett-Packard, Apple, IBM, Compaq, Canon and Ricoh. Both BISC and MAG will distribute the Datametrics printer under the CYMax label.

Sidney E. Wing, president and chief executive officer of Datametrics, said: "We are selecting distribution partners based on their product knowledge and presence in our target markets. Over this fiscal year, we expect to align ourselves with over 30 distributor organizations worldwide. We are now in receipt of initial orders that accompany each distribution agreement.
"As a result, we anticipate that our order base will grow substantially as we sign additional agreements and as our distribution partners effect end-user orders."
The company further confirmed that it has completed its manufacture of all Beta units and has commenced initial delivery of limited-rate production units for demonstration and evaluation by various distribution channels.
Datametrics is a 32-year-old producer of computer peripherals and communications products for industrial, commercial and governmental markets. The company is primarily engaged in the design, development, manufacture and sale of high-speed color printers, high-resolution non-impact printer/plotters, ruggedized computers and workstations and data-entry keyboards.
