Borland Ships Paradox 7 for Windows 95 and Windows NT; Earns Windows Sources Magazine's Stellar Innovation Award, Called "The Most Powerful 32-Bit Desktop Database Around"

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 1995--Borland International Inc. this week will begin shipping its new Paradox database for Microsoft's Windows 95 operating system. Paradox 7 for Windows 95 & Windows NT offers unmatched levels of ease-of-use, speed, and office suite integration, as well as new developer tools and a smooth transition for existing Paradox users to Windows 95.
The company also announced that its new database has already won its first prestigious award from a top computing publication. Windows Sources Magazine honored Paradox 7 with its "Stellar Innovation" Award. "Paradox Delivers!" according to the magazine's January 1996 issue. "The new Paradox provides ease-of-use features along with advanced programming tools. This combination makes Paradox the most powerful 32-bit desktop database around. What's New in Paradox 7 for Windows 95 & Windows NT
Paradox 7 breaks new ground in end user ease-of-use with new Experts that automate virtually every common database task and a range of usability enhancements that help beginning users to start working with their data immediately. It also offers superb database integration with Microsoft Office 95 and Novell's PerfectOffice. In addition, the database includes new visual productivity tools that allow power users and professional application developers to easily extend the Paradox environment to deliver the most advanced Windows database applications.

Paradox 7 User Group Tour
In addition to the Internet activities, Borland next week will kick-off a three-month nationwide tour of computer user groups to promote the launch of Paradox 7. The first official Paradox 7 launch event will be held December 12 at the monthly meeting of BAPALS, the Bay Area Paradox user group in San Francisco. Representatives from Borland will demonstrate Paradox 7 and Egghead Software will offer BAPALS members the chance to be among the first customers to purchase the shipping product. Paradox 7 is available from Borland and through all major distribution channels. The estimated street price (ESP) for a new-user version of Paradox 7 is $299. Owners of previous versions of Paradox can upgrade to Paradox 7 for an ESP of $89 (including manufacturer's rebate.) A special upgrade offer is also available for owners of competitive database products and application suites at an ESP of $99.
