Seagate Technology Appoints K. John Stahl Vice President of Quality, Components Group

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 1995--Seagate Technology, Inc. (NYSE: SEG) today announced the appointment of K. John Stahl to vice president of Quality, Components Group. Based at Seagate's Recording Head Operations in Minnesota, Stahl's responsiblities will encompass all quality processes for wafer, slider, tape head and head gimbal assembly operations at the company's Minnesota, California, Northern Ireland, Malaysia and Thailand facilities. Stahl will report to Brendan Hegarty, executive vice president and COO, Components Group.
Stahl has over 25 years of experience in the disc drive industry, including management positions at IBM Corporation, Storage Technology Corporation, and Iomega Corporation. Most recently, Stahl was vice president of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at Storage Technology Corporation.
"John brings to Seagate his leadership in research, technology and development evident through his various awards, publications and U.S. Patents in servo technology for high density recording," said Hegarty. "His experience and academic background will make him an immediate contributor supporting our customer base with high quality, high performance and highly reliable components."
K. John Stahl holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics from the California Institute of Technology, a Masters degree in Applied Mechanics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Colorado.
