InfoModeler 1.5 To Support Borland Delphi; Visual database design tool brings improved productivity and reuse to Delphi developers
Business Wire, Feb 14, 1995
BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 1995--Asymetrix Corp. today announced that InfoModeler 1.5, the industry's only visual database design tool that uses Object Role Modeling (ORM), will support Delphi, Borland's new high-performance development tool.
With the new InfoModeler support for Delphi, developers can boost productivity by using InfoModeler to automatically generate a Delphi database from easy-to-understand, object-based information models. Using sample data and simple English statements, users can easily create a clear model of their information system that is automatically validated and transformed into a correct database design for Delphi applications accessing the InterBase server.
"Our support for Delphi builds on our commitment to help Borland developers design better databases in less time," said Bruce Linn, vice president and general manager, Asymetrix Database Products Division. "Delphi developers will be able to easily validate user requirements and quickly create the right database for their application, like dBASE and Paradox users can today."
"InfoModeler 1.5 complements Delphi's visual, object-oriented approach by extending it to database design," said Karen Frederiksen, vice president of client/server for Borland. "By using InfoModeler's unique Object Role Modeling approach, developers can see improved productivity and quality by applying modern design techniques to relational database design."
Asymetrix InfoModeler 1.5 is an award winning visual modeling tool for client/server and Windows database design. Using Object Role Modeling (ORM) and common English statements to identify objects and relationships in the design process, InfoModeler makes it unnecessary to create complicated entity-relationship design notations. This allows for greater speed and accuracy in the design process. In addition, InfoModeler automatically validates the design and generates the actual database.
Delphi uniquely combines a native code compiler, visual tools and scaleable database technology for the rapid development of Windows and client/server applications.
Support for Borland Delphi in Asymetrix InfoModeler 1.5 will be available in the second quarter of 1995. Delphi support will be included with a forthcoming version of InfoModeler 1.5 Desktop Edition and InfoModeler 1.5 Client/Server Edition. Borland International Inc.
