Argos Gameware ships new ArtApart 3-D interlocking jigsaw puzzles for Windows
Business Wire, Feb 22, 1995
MAYWOOD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 1995--Argos Gameware is now shipping its new multimedia jigsaw puzzles for Windows.
Its on-screen interlocking pieces form wonderful color pictures from as few as 15 to more than a thousand pieces, at the player's option. The pieces have a 3-D look, and a 3-D play, where pieces can be hidden under other pieces on the on-screen playing table. Optional sound effects (requires sound card), animation and game table variations accompany the action as players slide the pictured pieces into place. The new ArtApart(TM) jigsaw puzzle set for Windows with 30 puzzle pictures is available for $39.95 (all prices suggested US resale at participating resellers; inquiries invited).
Players begin by picking a picture and specifying how many pieces to cut. Each piece has the familiar little knobs and sockets of traditional interlocking jigsaw puzzles. There's extra fun on audio-capable systems, from the sounds of scissors cutting out the pieces and the pieces clicking into place during play to the sound of an admiring crowd once the puzzle is complete. Players who choose from the more challenging ArtApart game options will appreciate its ability to save puzzles in progress, and resume them later.
Argos also offers new Argos Gameware Entertainment Digest(TM), Volume I for Windows ($29.95). Entertainment Digest, Volume I includes Alien Checkers, Jewel Thief, Maze Master, DoubleMatch and Quadrille solitaire plus sample ArtApart and WordHunter puzzles.
The Argos Gameware Division (founded 1994) of H&M Systems Software Inc. creates non-violent computer game software. While there is no killing, no violence and nothing in these games requiring parental intervention, there is still fun and provocatively challenging action throughout the scores of games in the Argos collection.
