Business Wire, Jan 10, 1995
SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 1995--IMSI (NASDAQ Small Cap IMSI) today announced it has acquired ViewPoint 6.0 for Windows. The acquisition of the highly successful software for project planning and management is indicative of IMSI's mission to meet the needs of desktop business users, by developing and/or publishing faster and easier graphics-based products to help people become more productive in their work.
IMSI acquired exclusive worldwide rights to ViewPoint 6.0 for Windows from its developer, Computer Aided Management Inc. of Petaluma, Calif., (CAM Inc.).
IMSI plans to greatly enhance the product beyond professional users and expand its distribution channels worldwide.
"I've used ViewPoint since 1988 and it is my planning tool of choice. I'm a real believer in it," said Larry Glass, manager of MIS Project Planning and Control for QVC Inc. "It's extremely flexible and is one of the few project management tools available that lets you do multiple project scheduling with a common resource pool. Our team can import and export various file formats, post hours of work and calculate actual and projected hours for multiple projects at our fingertips. This saves time and resources and it is easy to use for everyone."
"For our customers who are serious Windows project management users, ViewPoint is the only viable option because of its unbeatable combination of ease of use, price, and powerful planning, management and communication features. As more and more businesses are standardizing on productivity tools, we are confident that we will increase our marketshare in this emerging market as users standardize on ViewPoint," said Susanna Poon, vice president, product development and marketing at IMSI.
ViewPoint's unique "Distribute" and "Integrate" functions allow managers at all levels to participate in both top-down planning and bottom-up management. ViewPoint comes with more than 24 standard report templates; a full presentation graphics module; graphics and tabular planning interfaces; precise tracking of schedules, resource use and expenses; and tools for monitoring and optimizing project performance.
ViewPoint 6.0 for Windows is available now from IMSI and authorized value-added resellers worldwide. It is available in a three-seat package starting at $665 per seat; site and corporate licenses are also available.
