Score Board And Viacom Consumer Products Extend Star Trek® Memorabilia License Agreement

CHERRY HILL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 18, 1995--The Score Board, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSBL) and Viacom Consumer Products, a division of Viacom Inc., announced today that they have agreed to extend the term of their existing Star Trek memorabilia license agreement to September 30, 1996. The extended agreement also expands Score Board's memorabilia rights to include the recently released motion picture Star Trek Generations and the new United Paramount Network television drama series Star Trek: Voyager(TM). Score Board's existing memorabilia rights include the television series: Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation(R), and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine(R) and all previous Star Trek motion pictures. Financial terms of the license agreement were not disclosed.
Under the license agreement Score Board has the right to manufacture Star Trek themed merchandise such as autographed and non-autographed plaques, jewelry and other collectibles for sale through direct response television, direct mail/catalog and retail outlets. Score Board also has the right to create and program shows for television shopping networks.
Commenting on the extension, Andrea Hein, President of Viacom Consumer Products, stated, "Score Board brings tremendous creativity to the development of their product lines and marketing while also generating added visibility for the Star Trek franchise through television shopping specials. With the recent release of the feature film, Star Trek Generations and this week's debut of the new television series, Star Trek: Voyager, we felt it an ideal time to both extend and expand our relationship with Score Board."

We are pleased with our ongoing relationship with Paramount and the addition of new Star Trek properties. To complement our license from Paramount, we plan to continue to enter into exclusive autograph and television appearance contracts with cast members of the television series."
Star Trek is a property of Viacom Consumer Products which licenses properties on behalf of Paramount Pictures, Paramount Television and Simon & Schuster as well as third party properties. Viacom Consumer Products, a unit of Viacom Entertainment Group, is a division of Viacom Inc.
