The Tjx Companies, Inc. Announces Resignation Of Rebecca Jewett As President Of Chadwick's Of Boston

Framingham, MA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX) announced today that Rebecca Jewett has resigned from her post as President of Chadwick's of Boston, TJX's mail order catalog division. Her resignation becomes effective as of February 3, 1995.

Ms. Jewett has resigned to devote more time to her family. She will also continue in an advisory capacity to the Cosmopolitan Catalog, TJX's recently announced project in conjunction with Hearst Magazine's Brand Development. Scheduled to mail its first catalog this spring, the Cosmopolitan Catalog will feature high fashion women's apparel with the Cosmopolitan label.

Bernard Cammarata, President and Chief Executive Officer of The TJX Companies, Inc. commented, "Becky has made major contributions to Chadwick's of Boston during a period of high growth. We thank her for her efforts and wish her the best with her future plans."

Until a replacement for Ms. Jewett is named, Richard Lesser, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The TJX Companies, Inc. will assume overall responsibility for the operation of Chadwick's of Boston.
