PSINet Creates Program for Universities to Provide Alumni Internet Access

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 1995--ComNet '95-- Performance Systems International (PSI) of Herndon, Va, introduced a unique program today called the InterRamp Affinity Program that offers Universities the ability to distribute individual Internet access accounts to their alumni organizations. Internet access accounts are distributed using PSINet's already announced Instant InterRamp service.
Instant InterRamp combines easy-to-use software, which provides users with service. InterRamp delivers a powerful yet inexpensive way for individuals to access the global Internet using 14.4Kbps through 128Kbps dialup access.
This new program creates direct communication with alumni and students, in turn, generating a revenue stream to pay for the institution's Internet connection and other projects. The amount of the royalty to the institution is determined by the number of individual users and the status of the institution's Internet connection. Any institution may take advantage of the program. Incentives are available for sign up prior to a March 1, 1995.
InterRamp is PSINet's high speed, Internet access solution for individuals wanting service and software in one easy-to-use, bundled solution. InterRamp delivers a powerful, yet inexpensive way for individuals to access the global Internet. PSINet has established V.32bis, V.34 and ISDN dial-up access for InterRamp in over 70 cities. InterRamp will be available in 150 cities by July 1, 1995 and over 200 cities by the end of 1995.
