Business Wire, Jan 30, 1995
ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 30, 1995--In a major win over competitive solutions, CA-Unicenter, CA-Unicenter/Star and CA-Masterpiece/2000 were selected by ORE-IDA Foods as their systems management and financial solutions. Product integration, support for multiple UNIX environments, database independence and a flexible pricing agreement made CA the vendor of choice.
"What was critical to making our business decision was the need to integrate systems management with financial applications and run them against our existing Oracle database in a distributed environment," said Scott Robertson, strategist for ORE-IDA Information Technology Openness. "CA's technology allowed us to leverage our existing investments in database while adding strong financial and systems management solutions. No other vendor could provide this combination."
As the market leader in integrated client/server systems management, CA-Unicenter and CA-Unicenter/Star provide ORE-IDA with seamless systems administration for their security, tape, workload and console event management in their DG and HP UNIX distributed environment. CA-Masterpiece/2000 provides mission-critical financial processing for ORE-IDA's general ledger, fixed assets, and job costing needs.
"Our clients have come to expect and rely upon CA90s to provide truly open technology with platform and database independence as critical components of business solutions that will grow with them and take them into the next century," said Yogesh Gupta, CA senior vice president of product strategy. "We are delighted to be ORE-IDA's IT business partner."
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
