First Federal of Harrisburg makes announcement

HARRISBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 1995--Patrick J. Aritz was named president & chief executive officer of both First Harrisburg Bancor Inc. ("Bancor") and First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Harrisburg ("First Federal"), wholly-owned subsidiary, effective July 1, 1995.
The announcement was made by Bruce S. Isaacman, chairman of the board.
Prior to his promotion, Aritz was executive vice president and senior lending officer of First Federal and was responsible for the day-to-day operational management of First Federal.
"Pat's extensive background in sales and marketing will help position the bank as a community leader in quality service geared toward the needs and wants of the customer," said Isaacman.
Before joining First Federal, Aritz's professional progression included positions covering both consumer lending and mortgage banking. Before co-founding AVSTAR Mortgage corporation in 1988, Aritz was president and CEO of Star States Mortgage Corp. in Wayne.
From 1981 to 1985 he was an account executive with Verex Assurance, a private mortgage company. Prior to that position, he was vice president and senior mortgage officer of First Peoples Bank in New Jersey, and vice president and senior mortgage loan officer at Farmers Bank of Delaware.
Aritz holds a B.S. degree in economics from the University of Scranton and pursued an M.B.A. program at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Aritz is past president of both the Pennsylvania and Delaware Mortgage Bankers Associations, and a member of the advisory board of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and the executive associate council of the Home Builders Association.
He is active in America's Community Bankers and is a frequent speaker to business and professional groups. Aritz also serves on the Secondary Market and Finance Committees and the general task force groups of ACB. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg -- Capital City.
Aritz resides in Lemoyne.
