EPSON now shipping industry's smallest, lightest and brightest multimedia projector
Business Wire, July 17, 1995
TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 1995--Continuing to strengthen its position as a leader in the color imaging marketplace, EPSON Monday announced shipment of the ELP-3000, the industry's smallest, lightest and brightest multimedia projector for business and educational use.
The EPSON ELP-3000 allows users to project large, high-quality color images from their PCs or Macintoshes at brightness levels unrivaled by comparable multimedia projectors.
At under 17 pounds and with a footprint of 11.5 by 16.5 by 6.0 inches, the ELP-3000 is about half the weight of similar projectors on the market and only one-third their size. In addition, users can select a screen size ranging from 21 inches to 300 inches diagonally, upon which pictures are reproduced with up to two times the brightness (500 lux) of conventional projectors. As a result, viewers can enjoy large, clear images in offices or conference rooms.
The ELP-3000 does not require the purchase of a converter or adapter to connect to a PC, Macintosh or video equipment. All required inputs are supplied with the projector for connecting a user's existing video and computer display cables. In addition, the ELP-3000 is equipped with a format analyzer that automatically distinguishes between various worldwide video standards, enabling easy use of all the projector's multimedia features.
The ELP-3000 comes with an exclusive remote-control unit that features a convenient track ball and utility software, allowing for the remote control of off-the-shelf presentation software, plus adjustment of volume and brightness levels.
For high-quality viewing, the ELP-3000's three high-performance Poly-Silicon TFT liquid-crystal displays feature 307,200 pixels each and a maximum resolution of 640 x 480, enabling reproduction of Windows or Mac Oz images in up to 16.7 million colors.
The ELP-3000 carries a manufacturer's suggested list price of $9,599. EPSON is also offering a line of ELP-3000 accessories, including carrying cases and custom high-brightness, polarized screens.
The ELP-3000 multimedia projector and all EPSON products are supported through the EPSON Connection, the company's toll-free customer-support and technical-assistance line. For more information, call 800/289-3776 (800/BUY-EPSON, ext. 3000).
