Advantex Marketing International and CIBC sign agreement; New Dining Card to save consumers 25% when dining out

Business Wire, July 19, 1995

TORONTO, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 1995--G. Randall Munger, chairman and chief executive officer of Advantex Marketing International Inc., is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) to test a new Dining Card for selected CIBC VISA cardholders.

Munger stated that, "This agreement represents a major development for Advantex's card products division and could have a very significant positive impact on Advantex's future revenues and profits. We are proud to align ourselves with one of Canada's most important Credit Card Issuers."

Under the terms of the agreement, the new dining card will be issued free of charge to all selected CIBC VISA cardholders. The program will be test marketed in the Fall in Southern Ontario.

The new Dining Card will provide CIBC VISA cardholders with 25% savings on food and non-alcoholic beverages when the card is used to pay the bill at participating restaurants. Cardholders pay their bills with the card and receive their discounts all in one transaction.

Canadians spend over 14 billion dollars each year dining out. The July 1994 issue of the Nilson Report, an authoritative newsletter serving the credit card industry, stated that saving cardholders money on the cost of dining out is one of the most attractive of all credit card enhancements.

The new Dining Card is unique, offering cardholders a 25% saving with no restrictions of use, honored any time, day or night, at participating restaurants. Cardholders pay their bill with the card and receive their discount all in one transaction.

With more than $157 billion in assets, CIBC is North America's 8th largest financial institution. CIBC VISA is Canada's pre-eminent VISA card issuer with over 4 million cards issued.

Advantex Marketing International, a diversified marketing services company serving daily newspapers, major retailers, packaged goods manufacturers, financial institutions and restaurants throughout North America, is a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "ADX".
