Business Wire, July 27, 1995
NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 27, 1995--Storage Computer Corp. (AMEX: SOS), a leading provider of high-performance disk storage subsystems and solid state disks, announced today a Technical Service Agreement with IBM Corp.
Under the terms of the agreement, IBM will be the warranty service provider for Storage Computer's RAID 7 Power Performance Solution for IBM's AS/400 platform. In addition, as a Storage Computer Strategic Service Partner, IBM will also have the ability to support RAID 7 storage servers on other IBM and non-IBM platforms.
Ron Beckett, Worldwide Field Service Operations Manager at Storage Computer, says that the service partnership affords RAID 7 customers two key benefits. "IBM is a world class leader in providing multi-vendor services. We are very pleased to have them join with Storage Computer and our other Service Partners in offering onsite system maintenance. IBM customers will benefit from having the same organization provide support for both their host and RAID 7 storage servers. All customers will benefit from the high quality service and broad geographic coverage of IBM's service organization."
Storage Computer's RAID 7 Power Performance Solution for the AS/400 includes an extended two-year onsite service warranty. The company offers 7 x 24 service with a four-hour response time. Ted Goodlander, president and CEO of Storage Computer, believes that "IBM will become a major component of Storage Computer's commitment to provide Customer Driven Services. The result of this maintenance agreement with IBM is greater customer assurance of Storage Computer's goal to consistently deliver onsite services which exceed our customers' service and support expectations."
John Schultz, director of marketing for IBM Services, says that "this agreement is part of IBM's continuing strategy to provide total customer support for multivendor environments."
